The upcoming 2023-24 World Cup season promises to be an exciting one as athletes from all over the world vie for glory. One athlete who is looking to win his third overall trophy in this competition is Norway’s Johan Granerud, making him the fourth man to achieve this feat.
Granerud dominated last year’s competition, winning six more titles than his closest rival, and will be looking to continue his success in the upcoming season. He will face stiff competition from Poland’s Dawid Kubacki, a two-time world champion, who finished fourth in last season and is hoping to improve upon that result.
Austrian veteran Stefan Kraft, who finished second in last year’s competition, will also be vying for his fourth overall title. Japan’s Kobayashi Ryoyu, the reigning Olympic champion, hopes to improve upon his fifth-place finish from last season and challenge Granerud and Kubacki for the title.
Slovenia’s Anze Lanisek and Poland’s Piotr Zyla are also ones to watch in the upcoming competition as they finished third and fourth respectively in last season’s overall standings. Switzerland’s Simon Ammann, a four-time Olympic champion, will be competing in his 26th World Cup season adding another layer of excitement to the competition.
In addition to the individual events, teams from Poland are favored to win the men’s large hill super team event as they took home the inaugural championship last year in Lake Placid. With so many talented athletes competing in this tournament it promises to be an exciting showdown between them all.
