Top Players at Turning Stone Win Record $6.2 Million in World Series of Poker Payouts

The 2024 World Series of Poker event in New York state was a huge success, with record-breaking numbers of entries and visitors drawn to the region. The 12-day tournament at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona awarded $6.2 million in total winnings, double the minimum guarantee. This amount surpassed the $5.4 million awarded last year, making it an even more successful event for the Oneida Indian Nation, which operates the casino.

The tournament attracted over 16,000 entries from players representing 38 states and four Canadian provinces. Ethan Bennett of Brooklyn was crowned WSOP Main Event Champion, winning $298,546 and his first-ever Gold Ring. Several players from Central and Western New York also won money and Gold Ring tickets to the Vegas tournament.

Turning Stone has hosted World Series of Poker events for three years now, marking them as the only casino in the Northeast to host a WSOP circuit event. They join fewer than 20 casinos across the country in providing this prestigious gaming event. Don Cazentre covers Upstate NY casinos for NYup.com, syracuse.com, and The Post-Standard.
