20,000 fans gathered at Maksimir stadium to witness the final match of the Croatian national football team against Armenia in the qualifiers for Euro 2024. Among them was Rafael Beserra, a Brazilian fan who has been following the “fire” team since their first match.

Bessera’s passion for Croatian football began when he met his idol Luka Modrić during the League of Nations in Rotterdam. This encounter marked the beginning of his dream to learn more about Croatia and its culture. Soon after, he received an invitation from the Croatian Tourist Board as a guest of honor and decided to move to Zagreb where he is currently studying Croatian and living out his dream.

During our interview at Maksimir, Bessera shared his excitement about attending his first match in Croatia and how much he loves watching the “fire” team play. He also gave us a prediction on how the match would end: “I think it will be 3-0,” he said confidently. When asked about who would be scoring these goals, he replied with enthusiasm: “Modrić, Ivanušec and Majer!”
