Unlocked Minds: Oklahoma’s Free Mental Health Conference to Strengthen the State’s Mental Health System

Tulsa Tech’s Lemley Memorial Campus will host the first Annual UniteCare Conference on April 4th and 5th, hosted by Patriot Family Counseling Services. The conference aims to bring together mental health care professionals, caregivers, and advocates for a Community Collaboration Conference focused on improving mental health care in Oklahoma.

As of 2021, over 592,000 adults in Oklahoma have a mental health condition, with more than half not receiving treatment due to various barriers. The conference seeks to address this issue by providing attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to support individuals in need of mental health care. Workshops will cover topics such as substance use disorders, self-care, and grief, offering local caregivers and community members the opportunity to collaborate on potential solutions to the shortage of mental health care providers in many Oklahoma communities.

The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and end around 3 p.m. Sponsors for the event include Transformations, TulsaTech, Patriot Family Counseling Services, CREOKS, and the Mental Health Association of Oklahoma. Those interested in attending can sign up through the channel 8 newsletter.
