The Paul Simon Institute at SIU welcomes prominent business executive from Chicago

John W. Rogers Jr., a prominent Chicago business executive and founder of Ariel Investments, will visit Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute on April 11 for a “fireside conversation” with director John Shaw. The event will take place at 5 p.m. in the SIU School of Law Auditorium, Room 120, with a reception planned from 4 to 5 p.m. in the law school’s formal lounge.

Rogers, who is originally from Hyde Park and graduated from Princeton University, has had a successful career in business, public service, and philanthropy. Shaw expressed excitement about hearing about Rogers’ experiences and contributions to the community. During the conversation, Rogers will discuss his pioneering concepts such as active patience, independent thinking, focused expertise, and bold teamwork. He will also offer suggestions for SIU students preparing for their professional careers.
