CAA Women’s Basketball Recognizes Top Performers in Weekly Awards for November 20th

The CAA has announced its weekly women’s basketball awards for the second week of the 2023-24 season. Chaniya Clark from North Carolina A&T was named Player of the Week, while Laine McGurk from Drexel earned the Rookie of the Week award.

Chaniya Clark, a redshirt sophomore at North Carolina A&T, had a standout performance in helping her team secure two victories during the past week. She averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and even earned a double-double in the win over Liberty with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Her impressive play has been crucial in North Carolina A&T’s three straight wins.

Laine McGurk, a freshman at Drexel, also impressed with her performances this week, averaging 15.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She had double-digit points in three recent games and played a significant role in a recent victory over La Salle with her contributions on both ends of the court.
