Linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been released by the Indianapolis Colts. Despite his departure, the Colts owner Jim Irsay thanked Leonard for his contributions to the team and Leonard expressed his gratitude towards the city of Indianapolis and its fans in a farewell message on social media.
During his six years with the Colts, Leonard had several accomplishments. He was a second-round pick in 2018 and won defensive rookie of the year. Additionally, he was named a first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and reduced playing time led to his release from the team.
Leonard remains appreciative of the support he received from Colts fans and expressed his love for the city. As a free agent, he will now have the opportunity to sign a new contract with another team.
