Veteran handball player Domagoj Duvnjak, at the age of 35, has been struggling with injuries and tough battles for the past two years. Despite this, he has remained an invaluable asset to both Kiel and Croatia as a captain and leader. In the 13th round of the Bundesliga, Kiel beat Fuchs Berlin 30-26, and Duvnjak recalled his glory days as one of the best handball players in the world.

In recent times, Kiel has been struggling in the championship, losing five games out of 13 rounds and being badly beaten by Aalborg in the Champions League. However, Duvnjak showed his class during these difficult moments and reminded us of his brilliant performances from years gone by. He played with his teammates, took responsibility on defense, and was practically unstoppable on offense. The visiting goalkeeper was powerless against him.

Duvnjak’s performance was not just limited to defense as he showed that he is still capable of dominating games in attack as well. This new awakening comes at a crucial time for Croatia as they prepare for the European Championship that will be held in Germany at the beginning of next year. Ivan Martinović also had a fantastic game in Melsungen’s victory against Balingen where he scored eight goals while Nikola Grahovac scored six goals for guests. Filip Vistorop added four goals to their tally.
