Scheduled Citizen Science Trainings for ‘Seasonal Signs’

The Signs of the Seasons citizen science project is a statewide initiative that aims to identify and document cyclical and seasonal changes in over 20 crucial indicator species. These species, including milkweed, butterflies, and loons, are vital for understanding Maine’s changing climate.

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Maine Sea Grant are hosting workshops next week for individuals interested in participating in this project. The first training session will take place on April 4th at Stimpson’s Point in Brunswick from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. In Falmouth, training will begin on April 5th at the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a three-part webinar will also be available.

These workshops are free of charge but mandatory registration is necessary to learn more about the project and register visit extension.umaine.edu/signs-of-the-seasons/training
