Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington has expressed her belief that Adam Peaty will have been taken aback by his recent victory, as his focus is on getting back to peak form for the upcoming Olympics. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, Adlington stated that she was confident in Peaty’s ability to achieve his goals and excel in Paris.

Adlington highlighted the depth and talent of the British swimming team, with Matt Richards, Tom Dean, and Duncan Scott also deserving of recognition for their exceptional performances. She emphasized that while Peaty may be seen as the face of the sport, it is important to acknowledge the accomplishments of other team members.

Adlington also pointed out that without Peaty, other swimmers would likely be viewed as the poster boys of the team. However, she stressed that the entire British swimming squad is in great shape and poised for success at the Olympics. She expressed confidence in their ability to perform at a high level and secure multiple medals in Paris.
