The world’s first Dragon Ball Z theme park is being constructed in Saudi Arabia.

In Cologne, Germany, visitors to the 2019 Gamescom gaming trade fair had the chance to try out the latest version of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The excitement around the game was palpable as fans got to experience the popular anime series in a new way. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, plans are underway for the construction of the first-ever Dragon Ball Z theme park as part of the kingdom’s Qiddiya project. The theme park is set to be a major tourist attraction in the region and will feature seven different areas inspired by the original anime series.

The Dragon Ball Z theme park will include five “world first” rides, including a 230-foot-high roller coaster named Shenron. This is a testament to the growing interest in video games and anime in the kingdom, with significant investments being made to bring these popular forms of entertainment to Saudi audiences. Qiddiya itself is a planned “city” located in Riyadh that will span over 360 square kilometers and offer over 400 attractions including golf courses, theme parks, and hotels.
