India has just scored 240 in their first innings against Australia in the World Cup match. They started off on a breezy note, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill making quick starts. However, early on, a loose shot from Gill led to his dismissal. Kohli then joined Rohit and gave them a good head start in the first Powerplay. But India suffered setbacks as Rohit and Shreyas Iyer were dismissed within five deliveries, leaving them struggling to keep up. Kohli and Rahul stepped up and soaked up the pressure well, but Kohli was eventually dismissed on 54. This left Rahul searching for partners, who were not forthcoming. Suryakumar Yadav fought a lone fight but struggled too, and he was also dismissed without much impact. It was only thanks to the last wicket stand between Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj that India managed to limp their way to 240.
