Former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter Dies Peacefully at the Age of 96

Rosalynn Carter, the former First Lady of the United States, passed away peacefully at her home in Plains, Georgia on Sunday at the age of 96. She was surrounded by her family when she took her last breath. Throughout her life, Rosalynn was an influential figure in American politics and society.

Rosalynn Carter was married to former President Jimmy Carter for over 70 years and they had four children together. During his presidency, she played a significant role in shaping policy and advocating for social issues. She also wrote several books on various topics.

In May, it was revealed that Rosalynn Carter was suffering from dementia and she received palliative care at home alongside her husband who has also been receiving palliative care since mid-February. Jimmy Carter served as the US President from 1977 to 1981 and is currently the oldest living former US president. He made it public in the winter that he no longer wanted to take any further medical steps after a series of hospital stays.
