At least four people, including two journalists, have died in new attacks by the Israeli Army against areas in southern Lebanon, according to information from various sources. An 80-year-old Lebanese woman has died as a result of an Israeli attack against Kfar Kila, in the Marjayun district, while her granddaughter, of Syrian origin, has been injured and has been transferred to a hospital in the area. The Al Manar television network, close to Hezbollah, reported that several minors – all of them grandchildren of the deceased – were in the house when the anti-tank missile attack occurred. Two journalists from the Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen have also died due to bombings against Tair Harfa town. The Lebanese state news agency stated that the attack resulted in the death of two reporters and a civilian without giving further details.

According to reports from ‘L’Orient le Jour’, a person who was with the journalists and who was acting as a guide identified as Husein Akel has also died in the attack. The Israeli Army has indicated that several Air Force planes have “identified and attacked three anti-tank squadrons” on their border and terrorist targets of Hezbollah’s organization. However, they denied for now any victims or injuries on Israeli soil. The attacks carried out by Hamas left nearly 1200 dead and more than 240 kidnapped in Israel. Authorities in Gaza reported over 13300 Palestinians killed by Israel bombings while over 200 Palestinians died at hands of Israeli forces or settler attacks in West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The mayor of Metula regretted shortly after that his town was empty due to threats from Hezbollah and asked for a “security zone” to be established between four and five kilometers north of the border according to information from ‘The Times of Israel’. The Israeli attacks were carried out as a response to launches carried out from Lebanon against Army positions on northern Israel which had been repeated recently. This same Tuesday several projectiles fell on Metula city after which an artillery fire was opened by Israel’s army which led to death of two people there too
