Female Shooter Killed by Police after Opening Fire in Texas Church

During a religious service at a mega evangelical church in Texas, a woman opened fire with a long rifle, killing herself and injuring two others. The shooting occurred immediately after the English service had ended and the Spanish service was about to begin. The woman fired several magazines and claimed she had a bomb, causing the faithful to seek shelter from the bullets.

After rumors spread of a second attacker, the police evacuated the entire shopping center where the church is located. However, these rumors turned out to be unfounded. Church televangelist Joel Osteen said he was unsure of why such an incident occurred but assured that “God is in control.”

The police have not yet provided information on the identity or motivation of the woman, who was wearing a trench coat and carrying a backpack. They also inspected her car for any explosives. According to research by Lifeway Research, an association affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, 55% of pastors have created response plans for possible armed attacks during religious services.
