Join Our Science Communication Study: Take Part in a 15-Minute Session

Nov 20, 2023

A research study is seeking journalists to participate in a 15-minute investigation on science-based communication. The primary goal of the study is to understand how journalists approach and report on social science research. Your input is vital in developing best practices for communicating scientific information.

Two compensation options are available: no compensation or a $20 gift card. If you choose the latter, an email from the University of Alabama will be sent to you with instructions on how to redeem the card, typically within three weeks of participation.

If you have industry contacts who are also journalists or journalism students, please feel free to share this email with them.

The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your individual responses will remain anonymous and your privacy will be respected. The results of the study will be used to inform further research on best practices for communicating scientific information and will be reported in scientific publications and presentations.

This project is being conducted by Dr. Alexa Tullett’s social psychology laboratory at the University of Alabama, with support from the National Science Foundation. Your participation is highly valued, so thank you for your time and insights.
