The Bills offense found success in the second half of the game, with Josh Allen leading the way. After a slow start that relied on field goals, Allen has now scored three touchdowns, including an 81-yard touchdown pass to Khalil Shakir that extended the Bills’ lead to 29-6 against the Jets. With just 6:29 left in the third quarter, Shakir broke through for the longest play from scrimmage in the NFL season so far.
Prior to this long touchdown pass, Allen also scored a touchdown on the Bills’ first drive of the second half, connecting with running back Ty Johnson. In his first game with interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady calling the plays, Allen has completed 19-of-29 passes for 273 yards.
It seems that the Jets are struggling to find their offensive rhythm as they attempt to make a comeback in the game following a punt on their first possession of the third quarter.
