Hans K. Reisch is the new CEO of Spar AG, a leading retail company in Europe. He will assume the role with immediate effect, taking over from Fritz Poppmeier, who has been on the board of directors since 2011 and became chairman in 2019. Reisch is a grandson of Spar founder KR Hans F. Reisch and has worked within the company for his entire professional life, holding various positions and serving as deputy chairman of the board for one year before assuming his current role as CEO.

As CEO, Reisch will lead a team consisting of three existing board members: Mag. Markus Kaser, Mag. Paul Klotz, and Mag. Marcus Wild. They have all been involved in the company for many years and bring extensive experience to their roles. The board will continue to work together to oversee the operations and future direction of Spar AG.

Reisch’s appointment comes after several months of reorganization at Spar AG, during which time some departments were redistributed but remain largely unchanged. The supervisory board stated that they are grateful for Poppmeier’s service to the company but regret his departure due to illness. They thanked him for his decades of commitment and dedication to Spar AG and hope he continues to recover well.
