GSA Launches New Class of Presidential Innovation Fellows to Prioritize Technology Modernization

As part of the Technology Transformation Services, the General Services Administration (GSA) has announced the members of the first Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) cohort for this year. This program recruits technology and innovation leaders from the private sector and places them within federal agencies as strategic advisers to support government leaders in addressing various national priorities.

The 12th PIF class consists of 21 fellows who will focus on technology modernization goals. Later this year, a second cohort is set to launch with a focus on artificial intelligence, in alignment with the Executive Order on the Safe, Secure and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan expressed excitement about how these innovators will work alongside agency leaders to improve service delivery for the American people.

Since its inception in 2012, PIF has recruited over 250 fellows who have made significant contributions to public service. Some of their achievements include enhancing data sharing at the Department of Veterans Affairs and supporting technology modernization efforts at the Department of Justice. The program aims to continue leveraging the expertise of private sector leaders to drive innovation and improve government services.
