Laredo Health Department encourages people to get vaccinated for respiratory illnesses.

As we leave the peak season of respiratory illnesses behind us, it’s important to remain vigilant. The Laredo Health Department is urging the public to continue practicing preventive care by staying up to date on their vaccinations. Currently, the city has reported over 500 cases of flu, despite low infection and illness levels.

Jaime Perez from Laredo Health emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated to avoid getting sick. The RSV vaccine, available for children aged 0 to 24 months, will be administered until the end of the month for a $10 fee. Meanwhile, both adults and children can receive the flu vaccine until June 30th.

If you need more information on vaccinations or how to get vaccinated for yourself or your family members, you can contact 956-727-6966. It’s crucial to stay proactive in protecting your health and well-being during this time. For more news headlines, visit the KGNS website.
