Naughty Dog has officially announced the remaster of The Last of Us Part 2, a survival horror sequel. The game will be released for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024. According to Eurogamer.net, this remaster of the last major PS4 game will feature improved texture resolution, shadow quality, level-of-detail distance, animation fluidity and more.

The PS5 remaster will offer native 4K resolution in Fidelity mode or 1440p resolution upscaled to 4K in Performance mode, along with an unlocked framerate option for TVs with VRR support. It will also have improved loading times and haptic support for the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.

Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade for just 10 euros. Additionally, the remaster will introduce two new game modes – ‘No Return’ and ‘Guitar Free Play.’ This suggests that a PC version of TLOU2 may be on its way soon.

The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after a dangerous journey through the post-pandemic United States. Ellie and Joel have found peace and stability in Jackson, Wyoming, a thriving community of survivors. However, when a violent event disrupts their peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to seek justice and find solace. As she hunts down the culprit, she faces the devastating physical and emotional consequences of her actions.
