Lukashenko goes against Putin, claims terrorists escaping to Belarus

Russian security service head Alexander Bortnikov has accused Ukraine and Western secret services of being involved in the terrorist attack that occurred in Moscow last Friday, which resulted in 139 deaths and was claimed by the jihadist group Islamic State. However, Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attack and dismissed Russia’s accusations as lies.

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has challenged Russia’s narrative by stating that the terrorists initially tried to flee to Belarus, not Ukraine. Lukashenko, a close ally of Putin, stated that Belarus and Russia coordinated actions to intercept the suspects’ car as it fled towards the border with Ukraine and Belarus.

Bortnikov reiterated his belief in an international conspiracy against Russia, stating that the attack was orchestrated by radical Islamists with the help of Western and Ukrainian special services. He also mentioned that the suspects planned to travel to Ukraine and be received as heroes. Despite these claims, no evidence has been provided to support the accusations. The FSB head also mentioned that the identity of the person who ordered the attack has not yet been determined.

The comments made by Patrushev and Bortnikov reflect Kremlin’s narrative aimed at justifying potential escalations in war in Ukraine. With news of eight suspects in preventive prison and arrest of a Kyrgyz-born man possibly involved in mass shooting tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate. The Russian regime appears determined to assert its influence over Ukraine potentially leading to further conflict.

In contrast, Ukrainian authorities have stated that they are taking all necessary measures to protect their citizens from terrorism and ensure their safety. They have increased security measures around high-profile events such as sports matches and concerts following this incident.

Overall, while both sides point fingers at each other for this tragic event, it remains unclear what motivated this attack or who is truly responsible for it. The international community must work together to bring those responsible for this heinous crime to justice while avoiding further escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

In conclusion, it is evident that there are different narratives about what happened on Friday night in Moscow among different countries’ leaders. While some claim responsibility on Ukrainians or Western secret services others like Putin accuse them of providing a “window” for terrorist groups’ activities despite high security measures surrounding these areas due to proximity with war zones.

It is important for all parties involved including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, West nations as well as international organizations like NATO & UN should come together with an open mindset towards finding out truth about this incident instead of blaming each other without concrete evidence which can only lead further tensions between nations creating an unfavorable environment for peace negotiations.
