The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Natalia Humeniuk, confirmed that Ukrainian troops have successfully pushed Russian troops several kilometers away from the Dnieper River on its eastern bank in the Kherson region. According to Russia, their troops were pushed back three to eight kilometers due to the landforms of the beach. However, Humeniuk did not reveal whether Ukrainian forces have gained complete control of the area or if Russian forces have withdrawn.

On Friday, Ukraine officially confirmed that their armed forces had reached positions across the river. This was a significant advancement for Ukraine after months of stalemate with Russian troops in the region. Since Russia withdrew from the western part of the Kherson region a year ago, Russian and Ukrainian troops have remained in positions on opposite banks of the river.
