The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake are excited to announce that the 10th annual Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will return on Friday, December 1 from 6 pm to 9 pm.
The event kicks off with a parade featuring fire trucks from various departments, coming together in unity and collaboration. Santa Claus will be the special guest, joining the parade route which takes fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street.
Following the parade, there will be a tree lighting ceremony in Berkeley Green from 6:15 pm to 7 pm. Santa will light the tree while everyone is invited to join in a festive holiday sing-along with Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire.
Kids will have an opportunity to visit Santa from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Saranac Lake Free Library. Children can share their wish-lists with Santa and capture the moment with a photo.
At 7:30 pm, a 40-foot tree donated by Moody Tree Farm will be lit in Riverside Park. This event is made possible through the support and collaboration of several valued organizations including Women’s Civic Chamber, Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and Northern Lights Choir.
Area fire departments, businesses and organizations interested in entering a vehicle into the parade are welcome. RSVP to Santa Parade Chair Douglas Peck at 518-891-2414 or westfirefighter17@hotmail.com for more information on how to participate in this exciting event.
