Seahawks reach agreement with Laviska Shenault on contract terms

The Seahawks have decided to add another player to their roster in the form of Laviska Shenault, a former second-round pick for the Jaguars in 2020. With his experience as a kick returner, averaging 27.7 yards per return on nine attempts over the last two seasons, Shenault could be a valuable asset to the team’s special teams unit.

Shenault had six returns in eight games last season alone and with the new kick return rule being passed, his value may see an increase with the Seahawks. Although he has shown promise as a receiver, catching 121 passes for 1,219 yards with five touchdowns in his first two seasons, his production decreased during his time with the Panthers. In the last two years, Shenault only had 37 catches for 332 yards with one touchdown.

Seattle’s decision to sign Shenault indicates their interest in strengthening their special teams and adding versatility to their roster. His potential as a receiver and experience as a kick returner make him a valuable asset for the team moving forward.
