Downtown Niles is preparing to celebrate the return of Small Business Saturday on November 25th. The Niles City Council has approved the annual event, which will be hosted by the Niles Downtown Development Authority Main Street from 10 a.m. to dusk. This day aims to promote and celebrate small businesses within the community.
On Small Business Saturday, local businesses will offer specials, entertainment, and refreshments to attract customers. In addition, there will be fundraising efforts for the Salvation Army and fire safety information for children provided by the Niles Fire and Police Departments as well as the Howard Township Fire Department.
Red Chuck Productions’ Rockin’ Small Business Saturday Music Festival will feature local musicians in four tents set up downtown from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will be headlined by Abbie Thomas, a singer-songwriter who won “Female Artist of the Year” from the 2022 Josie Music Awards. The Grand LV will be hosting its Holly Jolly Artisan Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered from 2 to 5 p.m. The event will conclude at dusk with Santa arriving to light the decorations and take photos with attendees.
Event organizer Justin Flagel hopes that this year’s Small Business Saturday in downtown Niles will become a kickoff for the holiday season and bring together the community in support of local businesses.
Small Business Saturday is an excellent opportunity for residents of Niles and surrounding areas to shop locally while supporting their community’s small businesses during the holiday season.
