Annual Blood Drive Hosted by SCTC Health Science

In honor of Career and Technical Education Month in February, the health science department at Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) joined forces with Mississippi Blood Services to host a spring blood drive on Feb. 6. The event was a resounding success, with over 20 pints of blood being collected, potentially saving countless lives.

The students enrolled in the health science program at SCTC gained valuable experience through their involvement in this event. They had the chance to hone their skills in event planning, teamwork, communication, and community engagement. Additionally, they gained a deeper understanding of the significance of blood donations in healthcare, which helped to cultivate empathy and a sense of social responsibility.

Brenda White, the health science instructor, played a pivotal role in organizing this event and SCTC is grateful for her hard work in making it an impactful and successful initiative.
