In preparation for Valentine’s Day, the Tulsa Health Department’s substance abuse prevention program and the StopDUI Task Force are urging residents to drink responsibly and safely, or to try a fun mocktail instead. The StopDUI Task Force and the substance abuse prevention program of THD collaborated to present a Facebook Live mocktail tutorial for Valentine’s Day, which will take place on Friday, February 9. THD Prevention Specialist Kandice Lawson and Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Eric Kirby are going to share delicious recipes for festive drinks to prepare for Valentine’s Day.
For those looking to avoid alcohol altogether, the Circus of Love is a great option. This mocktail is easy to make and only requires a few simple ingredients. To make this drink, roll the rim of the glass in marshmallow fluff, dip it in sprinkles, pour in three-quarters of a carbonated beverage, drop in some cotton candy and stir until well combined.
If you do want an alcoholic drink but want to keep it light and refreshing, try the Stop in the Name of Love. This cocktail is made with sparkling hibiscus red grape juice, lemon-lime soda, orange juice, crushed ice and garnished with several Valentine’s Candy Hearts. Simply mix all the ingredients together in a glass full of crushed ice and enjoy!
Lastly for those who want something more fruity and punchy then try Kandi-Coated Punch. This punch is made by adding strawberries and raspberries into it along with Sprite, Simply Lemonade with Raspberry Juice – 52 fl oz , Simply Lemonade with Strawberry Juice – 52 fl oz , Dole 100% Pineapple Juice – 46 fl oz can .
