Marc Guiu, a forward from Barcelona, scored another goal for Spain at the Under-17 World Cup. This goal helped Spain advance to the quarter-finals of the competition after defeating Japan 2-1 in their final group fixture. Quim Junyent, also from Barcelona, was instrumental in the game and found the back of the net.
Junyent opened scoring for La Rojita just eight minutes into the match, but Japan equalised five minutes before halftime. In the second half, Junyent provided an assist to Guiu who scored the winning goal, securing Spain’s spot in the quarter-finals. For his impressive performance on the field, Junyent was awarded man of the match honors.
Spain will now face either Germany or America in their next match to reach the semi-finals. If they play against Germany, Guiu’s teammates from Barca will come up against Noah Darvich who has been performing well for his national team at this tournament.
