Toy-Inspired Lamp Design with a Devilish Twist

The Diabolo Lamp collection from Japanese company Light designers Hiroki Hakamada is a unique and beautiful fusion of art and design, inspired by an ancient skillful activity. The lamps take their name and inspiration from a juggling device called the Devil, which rotates, whirls, is thrown into the air, and caught again with a rope attached to the tips of two sticks.

Each element of this lamp collection is carefully and exclusively made and assembled by hand using materials such as brass for the diffuser and artificial leather for the belt. The flying part of the diabolo lamp consists of two concave elements connected to each other, created using similar motions as the juggling device.

The hourglass shape of these lamps is reminiscent of the oriental toy, but their beauty goes beyond that. They are a true masterpiece in design that will add elegance to any room they grace with their presence. Whether used as tabletop or ceiling lighting, the Diabolo Lamp collection is sure to impress with its unique style and intricate details.
