Mentally ill patient attacks three staff members at mental health facility in Buffalo

Around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, a stabbing incident occurred at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center campus in north Buffalo, inside the Strozzi Building. According to officials from the New York State’s Office of Mental Health, three staff members were injured by a patient during the incident. The Office of Mental Health is actively assisting the Buffalo Police Department in their investigation into the matter and their top priority is the safety of both their staff and the individuals they serve.

Local news outlet WIVB-TV reported that two men and a woman were transported to the hospital by ambulance after the stabbing took place shortly after 9 a.m., one of them is believed to be seriously injured while the suspect was taken into police custody. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

In other news, ClearForce is using AI technology to identify veterans who may need mental health support, allowing support groups to reach out to them proactively. This initiative aims to provide much-needed assistance to veterans struggling with mental health issues.
