March Madness Report Card: UConn Shines with ‘A+’ while Kentucky Falls Short with ‘F’ in Opening Weekend

The NCAA Tournament of 2024 is now in the Sweet 16 stage with only sixteen teams remaining. In the spirit of this exciting phase, I have given grades to each team based on their performance through the first two rounds of action. The teams that have excelled include Purdue, Duke and UConn, who have earned A+ grades for their dominant play.

On the other hand, some disappointments have occurred in the tournament. Kentucky, despite being the highest-seeded team to be eliminated in the first round, received a low grade for their underwhelming performance. While there were other teams that also struggled, Kentucky’s loss to Oakland, a No. 14 seed, was particularly noteworthy.

As we move into the Sweet 16, teams will be looking to continue their success and advance to the next round. The excitement and surprises of the tournament are far from over, and we will be bringing you more updates and analysis as it progresses.
