Djokovic’s coach, Goran Ivanišević, expressed total confidence in his star player’s ability to win the ATP Finals title against Jannik Sinner in Turin. Despite losing to Sinner in the group stage, Ivanišević knew that Djokovic would ultimately emerge victorious with a flawless performance. The coach revealed that they didn’t see Djokovic at all after his initial setback, leaving uncertainty about whether he would even continue in the competition.
Despite facing inner struggles as the best player in the world and always striving for more, Djokovic described his victory over Sinner as one of the best seasons of his career. With 55 wins and only six losses, he won three of the four Grand Slam titles and only lost in the Wimbledon final. Additionally, he secured a total of seven titles during this season.
Djokovic was particularly proud of his performance during the knockout phase, especially against his toughest competitors Daniil Medvedev and himself. His coach agreed with this assessment and praised Sinn for his potential to win Grand Slam titles in the future while highlighting his fearlessness when competing against top players.
