The Global Appeal of the Super Bowl: A Marketing Asset that Could Revolutionize International Football

Pre-Game Fun: Super Bowl Advertising

Are you still feeling the excitement of the Super Bowl? The biggest show in half the world is now a must-watch for many, with American football played between the commercial breaks.

One of the things that makes the Super Bowl so special is that it doesn’t matter if you have any interest in sports to get excited. It’s a marketing asset that could serve as a rough model for other popular sports in other countries. In Germany, for example, only football would be an option, but what would happen if the championship was decided in one game? The Hoffenheim-Heidenheim banter before it would be a tighter one game plan, and fall victim.

Bundesliga Bowl 1 could take place in Wolfsburg, fresh from the desert of Lower Saxony, the German answer to Las Vegas. Taylor Swift is something like the US answer to Helene Fischer, who could land in Hanover from her concert in Munich on the day of the match (all private jets would have parked their runways in Wolfsburg), then take the ICE via Berlin to WOB. Herbert Grönemeyer could croak anthem before game time (although he probably wouldn’t do something like that), so more like Howard Carpendale. During commercial breaks, it would be even funnier in stadium than USA as spectators can throw yellow tennis balls onto grass to bridge gap.

When asked about whether American Football is sustainable in Germany, Hertha sports director Benjamin Weber said “Pal Dardai is a very central figure for Berlin Way” and Anna von Boetticher added “When it comes down to it, I save my fear for later.” From a sporting point of view: Funny divisional divisions and game plans for regular season main round make Bayer and Bayern see each other in final this season Tuchel tactics fail just once but something like that could happen or… let’s leave Superbowl where it belongs between commercial breaks on land of unlimited possibilities.
