Lions counter 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

The Lions have announced that they will be matching the offer sheet signed by tight end Brock Wright with the 49ers, opting to keep him on their roster rather than allowing him to leave for their NFC Championship Game opponents. This decision means that Wright will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season.

Wright has played in 41 games for the Lions over the last three seasons, accumulating 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns. With this deal, he will continue to team up with Sam LaPorta as the top tight ends in Tennessee.

The contract is reportedly for three years and worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed. This is a significant increase from the Lions’ original restricted free agent tender of $2.985 million.
