Just before midnight, a large crowd fled from Longshots Sports Bar in Schererville, Indiana. A patrolling officer observed the commotion and quickly arrived on the scene. A witness informed the officer that shots had been fired inside the bar.

Schererville police, along with neighboring law enforcement agencies, were called to secure the area. Three individuals were found with minor injuries caused by a ricocheting bullet fragment. They were treated by the Schererville Fire Department. Authorities stated that the incident was isolated and that there was no threat to the public.
