The sudden loss of a driver on the bus from HNK Sloga, who was under 20 years old, has left the team devastated. The incident occurred just before noon while the players were en route to the Pristeg rest area for their next game against HNK Primorac.

The president of HNK Primorac, Darko Banić, received a call from his team as he was traveling to the rest area. Initially, the players thought Banić was joking when he rushed to the scene. However, when they realized the seriousness of the situation, they offered their condolences and assistance in any way they could.

Coach Ivica Žuljević acted quickly to stop the bus and pull out the driver from his seat after discovering him unresponsive behind the wheel. Despite their efforts to resuscitate him, however, it was too late; unfortunately, the driver passed away at the scene.

Dr. Zdravko Perko, who is also on board and is president of NK Sloga, expressed deep sorrow and condolences for his own team’s tragic loss. Local residents and supporters of both teams were equally concerned with ensuring everyone’s safety during this time and were grateful that no additional injuries or fatalities occurred due to this unfortunate incident.

It remains unclear what caused this sudden medical emergency on board, but police are investigating further into this matter.

The tragic event has been felt deeply by all parties involved in this match-up between two young teams with promising futures ahead of them in Croatian football.
