Kenyan marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum tragically passed away in a car accident near his childhood village of Chepsamo in western Kenya, along with his coach, Gervais Hakizimana. The accident occurred while Kiptum was driving and a third person in the car suffered serious injuries. Kiptum recently made headlines with his victory in the Chicago marathon, achieving a record time of 2 hours and 35 seconds.
