Union Pacific Railroad has announced the winners of its first-ever 2023 Sustainability Partner Award. The award recognizes and honors Union Pacific business partners who have shown leadership and progress in achieving sustainability goals. According to Union Pacific President Beth Whited, these companies are committed to finding sustainable ways of doing business that positively impact communities, employees, and customers, while working towards building a more sustainable future.
The award was open to all of Union Pacific’s customers and suppliers. It was based on a company’s sustainability efforts, including the use of innovative business practices to reduce environmental impact. The track record of engaging and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders, such as communities and business partners, was also considered.
The winners of the Union Pacific Sustainability Partner Award include both customers and suppliers. The customer winners are Cemex, CF Industries, Dow, Freeport-McMoRan, Hapag-Lloyd, and Owens Corning. The supplier winners are Arcadis, Jacobs, Konecranes, Trinity, Wabtec, and WSP.
