AFWERX and SpaceWERX Issue Call for Space-Related Technology Submissions

The Air Force Materiel Command website has announced the release of two new programs designed to support the delivery of capabilities needed by the Department of the Air Force (DAF). These programs, known as SpaceWERX’s Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) and Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) notice of opportunity, offer financial assistance to transition Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contracts into Phase III work.

The STRATFI program provides funding between $3 million and $15 million over 48 months, while TACFI offers between $375,000 and $1.9 million over 24 months. To be eligible for these opportunities, Small Business Concerns with Phase II SBIR or STTR contracts must have been running for at least 90 days or completed within two years of submitting a capability package.

Interested parties must submit a capability package by the deadline of April 12 as outlined in the latest notice of opportunity. Under the program year 24 rules, only an SBC’s government point of contact is eligible to submit the package on their behalf. AFWERX AFVentures encourages interested parties to stay updated on these programs to learn more about the support available for space technology submissions.
