Ex-NFL Quarterback Vince Young implicated in altercation at Houston bar

In early February, a viral video surfaced of former NFL quarterback and UT alumnus Vince Young being involved in a chaotic altercation at a bar in Houston. The fight took place at Tokyo Joe’s and was reported by TMZ.

The video showed Young sitting at the bar with a group of people who appeared to be arguing. The situation quickly escalated as more people approached him, getting in his face and throwing drinks. The group eventually moved to the other side of the bar, drawing more participants and spectators to the scene.

During the scuffle, Young was punched by one of the men involved in the fight, causing him to fall briefly before getting back up. It is unclear what caused the altercation. According to ABC 13, bar staff members were involved in the fight and called 911. However, the Houston Police Department stated that no charges were filed as the incident occurred on Feb. 4 around 10 p.m., with the bar manager opting not to press charges.

Vince Young is one of UT’s most celebrated former athletes, having played football for them from 2002 to 2004 before moving on to play in the NFL for six seasons and finishing as runner-up for the 2005 Heisman Trophy.
