Winter Vinecki secured her third individual victory of the season in the aerials event at Lac-Beauport, Canada. The day was cloudy and rainy, causing athletes to adjust their game plans.
The U.S. team had a solid performance, with five women and two men qualifying for the finals. Among them was Winter Vinecki, who missed out on the previous day’s finals but qualified in second place on Sunday.
In the finals, Vinecki almost lost her balance but still managed to earn enough points to advance into the super finals in sixth place. Chris Lillis fell hard during his run but avoided injury.
Vinecki clinched her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season in the final round by performing a back lay-full-full as the only woman attempting a triple jump. This impressive feat earned her the yellow leader’s bib.
Following this victory, the team will head to Almaty, Kazakhstan for their final World Cup of the season on March 10 after taking a rest and training period to prepare for their final showdown of the season.
